Why do people ask others to star their questions?

I have noticed that alot of people ask those that answer their questions to give them a star if they like it. Why is that? Do you get something for getting stars?Why do people ask others to star their questions?The only thing that people get from getting stars is the knowledge that people find their question interesting. People who ask for stars on here are nothing more than attention whores who are trying to get noticed on here. Probably the only acceptable reason for this is if they tell a joke, they ask you to star it if you like it.Why do people ask others to star their questions?

Why do people ask others to star their questions?i think it is because some people just enjoy getting stars, or are trying to get "the most amount of stars ever!"
