How much is it to rent the diamond twin star for three day?

I鈥檓 wondering how much is it to rent the diamond twin star or the diamond DA 40? When people say a $90 per hour to rent a plane, is that mean an hour of technical flying?

I will get my private license hopefully in three months as I鈥檓 training right now. I live in Salt Lake City, and I鈥檓 planning to travel to Santa Barbara for a couple of days in June. Also, how much would be the cost like to park the plane in Santa Barbara鈥檚 airport? How much is it to rent the diamond twin star for three day?A Twin Star will normally rent for around $300-500/hr of flight time (depending on where you live). However if you don't even have a PPL you probably won't have a multi engine add on by June. Most of the rentals I have seen for twins require 250 hours with 50 hours in twins to go solo and most require instrument ratings as well. Getting those by June will be a challenge for you. If you are training with a school that has a Twin Star, ask them what the rental rate would be. Finding Twin Stars is not easy as they are still fairly new. (Utah State may or may not "rent" the two they own - I doubt they do.)

Planes are rented either wet or dry. If rented wet then fuel is covered, if rented dry you as the renter pay the fuel. If there is a $90/hr aircraft you are charged for the time on the Hobbs meter (usually) and if kept overnight there may be a minimum time per day that the aircraft must be flown. The arrangements vary depending on the company that rents out the aircraft. I will also say that you will need to get "renters insurance". Insurance can cover you but many rental policies cover the aircraft for the owner against loss meaning if damage occurs they will come after you as the renter.

Overnight parking varies by the airport. Some don't charge an overnight fee if fuel is purchased, some do. Some airports even assess a "landing fee" most in the US don't but there are a few.

You can get a full list of airports near Santa Barbara at AirNav, here is the page for SBA

There are several FBO's I would call and see which charge overnight fees and which don't!
