What and how often should you feed a brittle star?

I have a fairly small, grey brittle star in my biocube. I have lots of live rock in it, so he ALWAYS hides. I've had him for a while and have never seen him eat anything, and my anemone seems to steal all the food i try to feed it, so i'm afraid he might die. What would be the best thing to feed him, and what time of day? What and how often should you feed a brittle star?Dont worry...Dont feed him anything. The live rock you have provided in your tank will more then suffice him with nutrients. He may also sift around and eat any left over food either in/on the sand bed or on the live rock. His stringlike arms can dig food out of tiny crevices and allow him to get to food supplies which are unreachable by some of your other aquarium inhabitants. Just be sure to check him every few days for any signs of illness or disintegration (as should anyone who has a starfish). If he is acting perfectly normal and looks fine, then he is. It is normal for brittle stars to hide and they rarely venture out into the tank. If you find it kind of irritating, then you can purchase a sand sifting starfish to stir your sand bed. They both are compatible and the sand star will frequently work his way around the tank out in the open for all too see. If you have no sand bed however, then I do not reccommend this. Truly best of luck and worry not your starfish is perfectly fine.

P.S. How do you like your biocube? I have a 14 I use for a QT and a 29 I use as a reef. Had to do a lot of mods but finally got them where they are self sustainable. What and how often should you feed a brittle star?i dont think you really feed them i think they feed off bacteria and clean the tank. What and how often should you feed a brittle star? Also known as Brittle Sea Stars Starfish found in holes and crevices on coral and rocky reefs.
