What is the difference between the showdown and the all star race?

I'm kind of confused. When I look on the schedule they are both on the same day and one is at 7:30pm and the other one is at 9pm. Does any of them count against points? I know the all star does not but what about the showdown? And is the showdown like only 100 laps or something? What is the difference between the showdown and the all star race? The All-Star race is where race winners from last year and this year, along with NASCAR champions and All-Star race winners from the last 10 years, compete for one million dollars in a 100 lap non-points race consisting of 4 segments.

The Showdown is basically a race where the drivers that are not eligible for the All-Star race compete in to try to race their way into the All-Star race. The Showdown is only 40 laps with 2 segments lasting 20 laps each. Like the All-Star race, the Showdown is not for points. The top 2 finishers of the Showdown earn their way into the All-Star race along with a fan vote winner who is later revealed during driver intros. What is the difference between the showdown and the all star race? The showdown is for the drivers who are not eligible to race in the all star race. So in the showdown they can race their way into the all star race. What is the difference between the showdown and the all star race? The Sprint Showdown is a race which is held as a last chance for drivers to race their way into the All Star race later that night. Both races are not points races. Can't remember the amt of laps in the Showdown off hand, but the All Star race is 100 laps broken into 4 segments. 50 laps, 20 laps, 20 laps %26amp; 10 laps.

In the Sprint Showdown the top 2 finishers %26amp; 1 fan voted driver advance to the All Star Race.
