What do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces?

This girl that goes to my school, well she's Christian. She wore a star of david necklace today, and me, being Jewish found that kind of strange. I mean I wouldn't go around wearing a cross.

I'm just wondering, I asked her where she got it and she said she just got it because she thought it was pretty. I thought that was weird, since she's Christian. What do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces? Many who call themselves Christians are really not.

If one who wears the Star of David really is a Christian, then they are naive to its true meaning and all that it entails.

THE PAGAN STAR OF DAVID... WHAT DOES IT SYMBOLIZE?

THE "STAR OF DAVID" -IS IT PAGAN?

I'm not Jewish, so I don't know if that's offensive or anything. I think that as long as they aren't being totally disrespectful about it, I wouldn't care if someone was wearing a cross or Star of David or anything.

The symbolism is of course important to those who believe a particular religion, but as long as someone isn't being blasphemous, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I think there are people who do just like the look of the cross or the Star of David, so I don't mind.

Is it weird, maybe a little. What do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces?Jesus was Jewish. You might wanna start by analyzing what the star means to you, and if that conflicts with Christianity then yeah I guess that would be weird. To a Christian the cross doesn't mean an execution device, it means something very different, so it could possibly mean many things when someone wears that symbol, and I guess someone out there could think it was pretty - though i my opinion the cross is no wear near as pretty as the star of david.

I would just assume someone was Jewish if they had one on, though growing up in TX I didn't know many Jewish people and saw Christians wearing them all the time.

In my experience they like to connect themselves to Jesus Christ's heritage. I really wouldn't be offended by it, but don't hesitate to tell a Christian what that symbol means to you, or why you wear one. good luck. What do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces?
That is strange, I agree. I don't think she paid any mind to it though. I remember when i was younger, i bought a whole set of earings, one of which were crosses, but they were pretty so I wore them. Me being the Jew I am, people found this strange, so i stopped. I was never meaning to mock their religion or anything. I think she'll eventually stop wearing it when she gets enough strange comments. The star of david also looks like some other kind of symbol, though i forgot what its called. Stars of davids are very popular though tooWhat do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces? Most evangelical Christians interpret certain sections of the bible promising divine favor if they are in favor of and support Israel in general and the Jewish people in particular so it is not odd to see them wearing jewelry depicting the Star of David.

Additionally those that do quite often could not tell the differences between orthodox and liberal Jewish cultures since they seldom delve into those specific historical traditions.
well its not really what you expect but if you think about it, the star of david is also an important christian symbol. ya know since christianit spread from judaism. i think i jewish person wearing a cross would be a bit different since like the cross came basically after where the split between the jews and the christians.

yeah im christian and i wear a cross and i normally assume those who wear stars of david are jewish, but idk i guess it okayWhat do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces?
People get tattoos of crosses. I see it all the time. It's not because they're Christian, it's because they think it looks nice. You have to realize that to a lot of people they are just shapes with no deeper meaning that a square. I consider myself an Atheist and I am thinking about getting this really cool tattoo of a tribal cross. I like the way it looks, its that simple.
I don't think it would bother me personally. I have lots of friends who wear certain things just because they think it looks nice, rather than really caring about what it means. A friend of mine has a Che Guevara t-shirt that he wears all the time, but he still has barely any idea who Che was or what he stood for. He just likes the logo ;P.What do you think about Christians wearing star of david necklaces?
Christ Jesus was a Jew. Wearing the Star of David in His honor is not wrong.

What about NON-CHRISTIANS wearing HUGE BLING crosses to 'look cool' or others wearing a cross yet they've never been to church, curse and use God's name in a curse word, booze it up, do drugs, sleep around. Yet they wear the symbol of how our Lord and Savior died. I have more of a problem with THAT than a Christian wearing a Star of David. I have a silver necklace with a Star of David that has a cross in the center (I bought it Jerusalem, my second time in Israel). I bought my wife an identical one.
Well, as a Christian I can say that I used to have one (lost somehow in a move) and I wore it to show my support of Israel, and Jews everywhere. Plus, I know that Jesus and His original followers were all Jewish, so without Jews there would be no Christians. We owe you a lot.
your rite that is weird but in some cases not because she could have some jewish grandparents or be part of a radical cristain family and in those cases they follow both the old and new testiment and reg cristians are told 2 only follow the new becasue the old is for jewish ppl
Given the Jewish roots of Christianity, that isn't THAT strange. Granted, the fact that she just got it because it was pretty isn't much of a meaning. Good thing she didn't think a swastika or some negative sign was pretty.
The star of David is a part of Jewish history. Christianity comes from Judaism. Its perfectly fine for a Christian to wear the star of David.
That indicates to me that the symbols of religion are losing their meaning and are chosen just because people think they look "pretty." It's another sign of the fading importance of religion in people's lives.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't think it's appropriate to wear other people's religious symbols as some sort of meaningless fashion statement.
Sometimes people dont understand the meanings of things. She may not fully understand what they necklace means.. Please dont judge her. People are entitled to their opinions and beliefs, in her case, she probably just doesnt know.
A lot of Christians are into yoga apparel and even Om shirts and lockets. Maybe its a subconscious thing since Christianity is seen as "uncool" in pop culture terms
Christianity came from Judaism. And David is still part of christianity, it may be out of respect for him and the old testament. =]
I find it strange when Jewish people wear them. It always seemed to me that they were more observant of the 4th commandment.
she might be a Messianic Jew. which means she was born Jewish, and then became a christian. and she may just be proud to be Jewish.
Invite her to synagogue.
it's not weird. She can wear anything she finds pretty. that's her taste in jewelery. religion has nothing to do with it.
we worship the G-D of Israel... the G-D of Abraham, Isaac %26amp; Jacob...
As a Christian, I have no problem with it.

Christ was Jewish, you know...
What does it matter; Jesus is from David, so who cares... if she likes it, what does it matter?
Maybe it was a pentagram...
i know someone who wears both.on the one chain
sara silver man wear a st. Christoph medal i think nothing wrong with it
Who cares really..she is the only one that should..Don''t judge
I've never seen the star of david as a necklace. Yeah, its mostly a Jewbie thing, and I see crosses more. Would it be awkward to ask..?
