How can i mark the location of the star?

What method is commonly used to mark the position of the star, without using any instrument (only naked eyes). Any physics theory or methods that can be applied here? Please help.. TQ!How can i mark the location of the star? Not sure what you mean by "mark" the position. If you have a star atlas, you can identify a star by matching the patterns of the constellations around the star. If what you need is the current position of the star relative to your local horizon, you need something like a sextant to measure the angles. A lot depends on what you're trying to achieve in "marking" the star's position. How can i mark the location of the star?Find the Right Ascension and Declination of it, that is how astronomers chart stars. You can look up how to do this and the specifics on Google. How can i mark the location of the star?I am not sure I understand the question, but i would learn the constellations, then you could locate it relative to one.
