I am from Europe. I ask because the USA produces absolutely massive ammounts of pornography, and its revenues exceed many other industries. The internet has increased its reach, and porn studios are always recruiting 'fresh meat'. What is the general attitude in the states to this career choice. Would a woman be looked down upon or would it be considered normal? Guys, would you mind your daughter becoming a porn star?Do American women consider a being a porn star a legitimate career choice?I don't judge people, it is their life to do whatever they want to do. So, yes for me I see it as a legitimate career choice, not something I would ever do for any amount of money but that is my choice.

Other people usually don't have a problem with it.

lol...well being a porn star def. isn't something that most women would aspire to be. Porn is popular EVERYWHERE, not just in the US. and most porn sites have specific categories



if you were to get into the porn industry, you would be looked upon as a slut and someone who is easy. guys would probably want to have sex with you, but relationship, or marriage? forget about it! the porn industry in america can be very male dominated and women are only seen as sex objects.Do American women consider a being a porn star a legitimate career choice?it depends who the girl's circle of friends are. if she has cool friends then they would understand her job is just for money and stuff, but if her friends are snobby they would look down on her definitely and probably start trash-talking. but porn pays very well if you're willing to make a career of it by doing multiple videos. Alot of people look down on it though and it would be very difficult to get hired for a conventional job after your porn days are over.
The opinionated people who judge everyone don't like it, and try to make fun of everyone not like them. Normal people, on the other hand, don't care and consider it a legitimate career.

Personally I consider pornography to be a form of prostitution. Just my opinion. However, if I was willing and able to do it (I mean if I had low self esteem and didn't care about myself and was uneducated), crap I would do it. Fast, easy money and loads of it. I am talking about 100s of thousands of dollars a year if they are "good" at it. I mean how hard could it be, right? But, what happens when they hit 30 and the boobs start to sag and the vayjay is loose? Then what? they are washed up and out of the business. What do they do then? Work at WalMart?

I don't know. I don't really think it is a legit career.

I know you asked the guys about their daughters, but I will say that I wouldn't want my daughter or son in that line of work. How weird would that be?
No self respecting citizen of the USA considers a porn star a legitimate career. Though some porn stars have become so famous, you almost forget how they got their claim to fame.

well, first of all, porn is looked down upon wherever u r in this world.. yes, people like to watch the movies, but would despise the people who act them. it's never a normal career to flaunt it.. and about my daughter? well i would go all SAW on her if i knew she even considered being a porn star... maybe that would knock some sense into her!

American's view pron starts as filthy. Sure, they may like to watch them in flicks, but they regard them as having no self respect. Just because someone makes a lotof money does not mean we, as American's, are impressed. Besides, I would NEVER want to be with a pron star, I'd be afraid of getting AIDS or some other STD.
Just watch the show "girls next door" about some play boy bunnys. They definately treat it like a great carreer and I saw one show where she gave her parents a tour and told them how great it was. of course she was one of hugh's main ladies so she had it great, but still.
If I had parents I'd hope they'd love me enough to support me if that's what I wanted to do. Not a legitimate career, but it's not the end of the world. Some girls have fewer options than others.

Remember you need no qualifications to be a porn star. Any shape or size can get into porn and you can be thick as bricks.

Jenna Jameson has like over 100 Million Dollars. I would say yes, even a average girl in porn can make a 6 figure salary, but that's a lot of movies. but if you like the work.
Yes, it does appear to be a legit career choice and they're large numbers of porn companies in the u.s. I really wouldn't mind if my daughter wanted to do it.
