How can I play my friend on Star Wars Battlefront 2 using an ethernet cable for pc?

My friend and I have bad internet connection so we want to play battlefront 2 from star wars against each other using an ethernet cable. My problem is how do I get 2 CF-18 laptops to work with an ethernet cable to play against each other.
