I want to buy a star for a very good friend of mine. How much does that all cost? Buying the star naming it etc.How much does it cost to buy a star for someone?no one can buy a star...its all scam and some companies trying to get some easy profits out of ignorant people(sorry if i offended you).
They just pretend to sell you a star and name it for you...but that name is just under their files...no one else will know about it...and who can assure you they wont sell the same star to another person. only group of people allow to name stars are astronomers....and they don't name stars because someone pay them. How much does it cost to buy a star for someone? Here's what I wrote to a similar question, a few days ago -
t's not so much a hoax or a scam, but just a way to separate the unknowing from their money. If your o.k. with that, then go ahead, it is your money after all.
However, if you want to do something for free, find your nephew's birth star. This is a program put out by the University of Hawaii that locates the nearest star based on when that person was born. What this means (for example) that if he was born 10 years ago today (2 December 1999), his star would be this -

Given the information on that page, any decent astronomer should be able to find it for you.
