How come the All-Star Jerseys are not worn during the All-Star Game?

I never understood this. MLB creates special all-star jerseys for the All-Star Game, and they're worn by the players during the Home Run Derby, but not during the All-Star Game. The players just wear their regular team jerseys. Is there any actual explanation for this? It should be more like the NFL, who wears the All-Star uniform and their teams helmet. It would make more sense for the players to wear the All-Star jerseys for the All-Star Game, and then wear their teams hat. The created jerseys are warm-up/practice jerseys. They are produced so that fans can buy them and MLB can make money. Players wear their team jerseys during the game so that fans can know who they are cheering for. In 2005, The All-Stars wore the all-star jerseys. They just started that last year
Baseball is the only sport that says that each team MUST be represented at the All-Star Game. MLB wants you the casual fan to recognize that John Doe plays for Team X because it says it right across their Jersey. Football on the other hand, it is the Helmet that says what team you are on.
